New clutch at 87K?  With those mods I’d almost think that the owner would be more indicative of “would I touch this ?” than the actual vehicle.  A kid couldn’t normally afford this so I’d see if the owner majored in douche and made some money at it.

You took the words out of my mouth when you wrote “no way, just for the fake S alone”. Read more

ND for the mileage and the aftermarket springs. Read more

I feel like 99% of possible second owners for cars like this are the foolhardy and unsuspecting. If you’re rich enough to both buy and maintain one, you probably want it new. Somewhere there might be one wealthy buyer who considers it shrewd to keep the $100K, enjoy the luxury and accept the remaining cost of Read more

You know what would be the perfect use for a car like this? A retirement community where golf carts are the transportation mode of choice. It would probably fit fine in one of those 3/4 scale garages, and your dog would feel far cooler riding in this than in the rear basket of a golf cart. Plus it’s borderline safe Read more

Tough call. At first glance it seems like a lot for a pretty tired car, but $6000 in body prep and paint work would make this thing seem pretty sweet and a nice vehicle in which to maybe someday drop in a built motor. I’d have to go ND at $15K, but at $10K it might be tempting.

It’s a 3,500-pound, 30 year-old Mercedes rolling on 217 horses and starting to rust. I can’t imagine this being an exciting ride. I wonder if there are wear marks on the trunk carpet from the golf bags.  ND for me.

If it was a 2-door, the owner would be faced with the phone constantly ringing. But it’s a meh 4-door, so it could be a parts car for a 2-door restoration. Read more

Give ‘em enough rope...

Who else kept hearing Mona Lisa Vito describing the Pontiac Tempest and the Buick Skylark while reading this article?

NP but I’d try to lowball the seller at a meetup. 7k seems a bit high but it’s a really nice example

Sadly, ND. No way Im spending $15k on anything with that reliability reputation. Read more

These are in the running for the ugliest cars ever. Right behind the murano cross cabriolet.

I was ready to say NP for a fun little runabout in the waning days of the ICE, but the automatic transmission throws a giant “why bother?” into the proverbial gears.

With the top up and the lights popped, it looks like a frog wearing a hoodie. ND.

ND for me. It looks great, but too many unanswered questions in the ad concerning the top. Maybe at $30ish? Read more

This reeks of OPP, other people’s projects. There are simply too many modifications, for me, especially the rubber-band tires. N.D.

Interesting car from an overlooked design period, a real curio. ND all day long though. Just because it is weird and curious doesn’t make it valuable. I love odd curiosities like this, but no. I would not pay that for it, not even in this market.
